Theme: The inspiration or theme behind each piece of art should relate to (1) Make an artwork or design item to address the textile waste. (2) Any other sustainable angles. Eg: sustainable fashion, reduce plastic usage and etc. Artwork medium: Use upcycled materials as your main creation material. There is no media or material restriction. But we encourage you to use as much found and unwanted materials from your home, school and immediate surroundings, and less new materials. Be creative in your medium and expression! The competition is divided into Primary and Secondary School categories. Each category has 4 awards. The Most Creative Award (Open to Primary and Secondary School students) This Award is for the piece that is the most creative. The Most Artistic Award (Open to Primary and Secondary School students) This Award is for the most artistic piece of artwork Each Award has one first prize, one second prize, and five third prize for each primary and secondary school category. About the Awards 1. Primary School Category – First Prize: The winner will receive an exclusive complimentary dinner for two at Peppermint Restaurant, PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, award certificates and an invitation to the annual ViaRT Exhibition. 2. Secondary School Category – First Prize: The winner will enjoy a complimentary one-night stay in an Urban Deluxe Room at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, including daily buffet breakfast for two at Peppermint Restaurant, award certificates and an invitation to the annual ViaRT Exhibition. 3. Alem Korkut’s contemplation of sculpture stays within the spatial, tactile and material, all the way to the dematerialization of the sculpture. Julie is currently a board observer at The Hague Space Resources Governance Working Group reflecting her interest in and passion for space mining field. Her artwork revolves around the repetitive and ritualistic nature of gestures and their traces. She explores the transformative effects of the deliberate infliction of pain on the human body during the curative process of alleviating disease and decay. Graduated from Arts Management, MA. in George Mason University, she has led over 50 international curated exhibitions and managed various art consultancy projects across Shanghai, Hongkong, and Washington D.C..
